Let’s just be honest, keeping a house clean full of kids (even just one) is hard! I have a house full of 5 young boys ( 6 if you count my husband) and boys aren’t that clean, well at least mine aren’t. I run around like a chicken with its head cut off sometimes just trying to keep this house clean.
I get it, mama. We work hard, our job isn’t easy. There are days when things get really tough, dishes fill your sink, laundry refuses to fold itself, your kids fight over the fact that one crushed the others dream. Children get so dramatic sometimes.
Ugh, this is all a recipe for a meltdown! Ain’t no mama got time for that. 😉
Sometimes “clean enough” can do just fine!
Keep these 3 simple tips for a clean enough home in the back of your head when you start to panic about the house being messy. For your own sake learn to be okay with it. You’re not running a museum, you’re running a home filled with love (messy kids), and making memories.
- Keep your counters clear or clear enough. It helps to throw your dishes in the dishwasher till you are ready to run the a full load.
- Keep your entryway free of shoes, coats, and bags. Get your family in the habit of putting things in the closet as soon as ya’ll get home.
- Have your kids keep their toys in their rooms. It helps to have a basket out in the living area to toss any misplaced things in and return them to their spots in one round!
- Do a quick vacuum, it always helps me feel 10 times better about the house.
Because sometimes clean enough is okay. Go play with your kids, listen to their silly jokes, enjoy a nice breeze, and a well needed moment with your spouse.
