We just had this last night for dinner. Super yummy and fast! My kinda meal, I love how it’s only 2 main ingredients and yet, so filling.
- 2 Pounds of ground beef
- 2 Tablespoons of water
- Potatoes ( this is however many you choose to use. We don’t all buy the same potatoes. So, use what you know will be enough for your family)
- 2 Teaspoons of salt
- 1 Tablespoon of garlic
- 1 Tablespoon of lemon pepper
- 1 Teaspoon of pepper
- 1/4 Flour
- 2 Cups of milk
- Texas Toast or whatever bread you would like to use.
Put a pot of water on to boil, rinse potatoes, cut them in halves or fours depending on the size of the potatoes your using. Toss them in the pot and boil till soft. Start browning your meat. Add the 2 tablespoons of water. ( I always brown my meat with a little water, if you do something different just don’t use the 2 tablespoons of water.) Add all the seasoning.
When the meat has browned turn the flame down low, tip the pan a little and push all the meat to one side of the pan so the grease can fall to other. Add flour to the grease and mix. Level the pan back out and add milk. Stir, it will create a gravy. Drain and make your mashed potatoes as usual ( milk, salt, and pepper). Use the directions on the back of the Texas Toast to bake or toast what ever kind of toast you decided to use. You’re done! Pour some of the beefy gravy on a plate and add the mashed potatoes on top. Enjoy!
*I totally forgot to take a picture of this meal! 🙁 But no worries I’ll put one up soon.
